“Minecraft” (Vietnamese title: A Minecraft movie) will be shown in Vietnam on April 4, at the same time as its release in the North American market.

The film is named after the best-selling video game of all time, Minecraft, which allows you to build a huge and unlimited virtual world from the smallest unit - cubes made of wood, dirt, stone or many other materials.

The film is a live-action version, telling the adventures of a group of 4 strangers, but with a shared passion for exploration, including Garrett, Natalie, Henry, and Darwin, who enter the world of Minecraft.

They are greeted by Steve - the default player in the game and a Minecraft expert. To return to real life, the four characters must work together and go through challenges in the virtual world as requested by Steve. The game is creative, exciting and fun, helping everyone feel like they are back to their childhood.

The Minecraft movie stars Jack Black as Steve. He is one of Hollywood's most beloved stars today thanks to his fun, humorous personality, having appeared in many famous films such as "The School of Rock," "Tropic Thunder," and has lent his voice to many films such as "Kung Fu Panda" and "The Super Mario Bros. Movie."

Jason Momoa - superhero Aquaman - is also a notable face in the film. He plays a famous but outdated former gamer, expected to explode in adventure.

In addition to the two faces mentioned above, there is also the beautiful and cute "wolf girl" Emma Myers, famous through the hit series "Wednesday" of Netflix in 2022.

Along with real human characters are characters from the Minecraft world such as Villagers, Exploding Creepers, White Wolves, Zombies, Skeletons or Pigins... promising to delight loyal players of the game.

“Minecraft” is directed by Jared Hess, an Oscar-nominated director, along with an experienced crew, including director of photography Erique Chediak of “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” and production designer Grant Major of “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.”

Minecraft is a game released by Mojang Studio (Sweden), launched in 2011. This is the best-selling video game of all time with more than 300 million copies sold worldwide, nearly 170 million monthly active players as of 2024.

Due to its popularity and widespread love, Minecraft has also been used to teach chemistry, programming, and computer science ... The game has spawned a series of spin-offs such as "Minecraft: Story Mode," "Minecraft Earth," "Minecraft Dungeons" and "Minecraft Legends."
