Recently, a Chinese robot manufacturing company introduced the world's first robot dog model that can carry people on complex terrain.

The dog robot, called B2-W, can carry an adult and has attracted much attention at home and abroad, especially many people have expressed their desire to ride the robot to work and use it as a means of transportation. The team in charge of developing B2-W at the company said that the B2-W robot is capable of performing tasks such as facility inspections and search and rescue operations on any terrain. Currently, it can jump and spin at the same time and easily navigate extremely difficult terrain. B2-W also performs highly difficult acrobatic moves. It can spin perfectly in place, switch to 3.5 spins on one leg, and spin in the air using its legs to support its entire body.

According to data provided by the company, B2-W can jump vertically from a height of 2.8 m, transport up to 40 kg of goods, and even bear the weight of a person. It has a ground running speed of 6 m/s, can climb stairs as easily as walking on flat ground, and jump 1.6 m horizontally, overcoming obstacles up to 40 cm high. This 4-legged robot is very good at overcoming obstacles and is suitable for complex and diverse terrain. It possesses structural stability and agile flexibility. These characteristics give B2-W a distinct advantage.

Four-legged robots are becoming increasingly popular in China. A patrol robot was put into use this year in an underground tunnel near Beijing’s southern third ring road. It has a robotic arm equipped with a high-resolution infrared camera. When it reaches a key location to be inspected, it can autonomously carry out tasks with nearby cables. In the transportation industry, four-legged robots can carry goods, improving efficiency and safety while reducing labor costs and risks.

In addition, the development of the four-legged robot is also to reduce pressure on the police and enhance security in the area. The first police dog robot in Hubei province began duty in Yichang city in May. Working together with real police dogs, the robot dog is responsible for patrolling, identifying suspects and fighting fraud in the Three Gorges Dam area.
