Samsung conquers the Dota 2 community with the Odyssey Cup championship in Southeast Asia and Oceania

Samsung has just announced the Odyssey Cup Dota 2 Championship, a high-class esports event that brings together professional and amateur gamers from Southeast Asia and Oceania.

This season of the Odyssey Cup offers a comprehensive competitive experience and introduces Samsung’s new gaming monitors, designed for esports. The brand new group format allows aspiring gamers to compete against experienced pros, creating a dynamic and open competitive environment that caters to the diverse needs of both professional and casual gamers.

The tournament will consist of two qualifying rounds with representatives from 6 countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, competing to advance to the Southeast Asian finals. The winning teams will then compete with 4 invited professional teams for 1 of 6 spots in the finals. At the same time, teams from New Zealand and Australia will participate in the playoffs, to complete the list of 8 teams (6 teams from Southeast Asia and 2 teams from Oceania) to enter the finals - where the final fierce competition will take place, aiming for the regional championship title and a total cash prize of up to 20,000 USD.

Representatives from 6 Southeast Asian countries and 2 Oceania countries will compete in the Odyssey Cup Dota 2 with a total prize pool of up to 20,000 USD.

The tournament will kick off online with the qualifiers taking place from 21-25 September 2024. The Southeast Asian Finals will be held on 28 and 29 September 2024. The top eight teams will compete in the finals with playoffs taking place from 10-13 October 2024.

Joining the action are Samsung’s latest gaming monitors, which are committed to enhancing the tournament experience and delivering superior gaming performance. The new 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8, featuring UHD resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, and a super-fast 0.03ms response time, delivers exceptional image quality and a vivid gaming experience, allowing players to focus on the game. In addition, the 27-inch Odyssey OLED G6 with a 360Hz refresh rate is also an ideal choice for gamers. Both models are equipped with Samsung OLED Safeguard+ technology with an automatic cooling system, limiting burn-in, and Samsung’s OLED Glare Free anti-reflective technology, helping to improve performance and comfort for long gaming sessions.
