On October 7, VBSF sent a document to the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City, regarding clarification of press reports related to athlete Yen Nhi - billiards & snooker participating in an international tournament.

The document stated: "VBSF received Official Dispatch No. 2008/CTDTT-TTTTCII dated October 2, 2024 of the Department of Sports and Physical Training regarding the request to verify and clarify press reports related to information on social networks of billiards & snooker athletes participating in international tournaments. For the above reasons, VBSF respectfully requests the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City - the managing unit of athlete Nguyen Hoang Yen Nhi to provide more information about the statements related to participating in the Women's 3-Cushion Carom World Championship in Blois - France from September 10 to 12, 2024 and some work of VBSF, and at the same time arrange a working session between the two units to unify the official information provided to the press, avoiding affecting the reputation and activities of VBSF in particular and the sports industry in general".

According to Thanh Nien Newspaper, Nguyen Hoang Yen Nhi has been invited to work with the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City. The meeting between VBSF, the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City and player Yen Nhi will take place on the morning of October 15.

Player Yen Nhi is the first Vietnamese athlete to win a medal at the 3-cushion women's world championship.

Previously, Yen Nhi participated in the 2024 World Championship Ladies Carom Billiards Championship held in France. At this prestigious tournament, the player from Da Nang won the bronze medal. This is a new milestone for Vietnamese billiards, when Yen Nhi is the first female athlete from Vietnam to win a medal at the Women's World Championship.

After returning home, Nguyen Hoang Yen Nhi expressed her feelings when she did not receive any attention from VBSF. On her personal Facebook page, Yen Nhi said that she (and her teammate Phung Kien Tuong) spent about 55 million VND/person to go to France to compete in the 2024 Women's World Championship (including round-trip airfare, meals for 6 days, and travel by train or car to the competition venue). "I feel it is really unfair to the athletes who are competing and contributing to the country without receiving any support from VBSF. So the question is, what is the purpose of establishing VBSF, while before VBSF did not collect money from athletes, my management unit would have planned for athletes to compete abroad," the player from Da Nang shared on social media.

Regarding the information posted by Yen Nhi, VBSF affirmed that the two sides had agreed on the funding before the athletes went abroad to compete. Accordingly, the decision to send Yen Nhi to participate in the World Championship Ladies clearly stated: "The expenses of the delegation will be arranged by the athletes' management unit".
