But according to the latest information, the young star of Nam Dinh suffered a serious injury and could not recover before the 2024 U23 Asian qualifiers began.
This is a big loss for the red team because Ngoc Son has played very impressively this season and is in the top 3 candidates for the title of best young player of V-League 2023.
Immediately after that, coach Troussier summoned player Pham Dinh Duy of Da Nang Club to replace him.
In the 2023 season, Pham Dinh Duy played 17 matches for the Han River team, including 13 starts.
Previously, Dinh Duy was not on the list of players attending SEA Games 32, even though he is one of the players with the most professional experience in the U23 age group.
Vietnam U23 team started training on August 30 to prepare for the 2024 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers.
In this qualifying round, U23 Vietnam is in group C with Singapore, Yemen and Guam.
According to the schedule, Coach Troussier and his team will face U23 Guam (September 6), U23 Yemen (September 9) and U23 Singapore (September 12).
All matches in Group C of the 2024 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers will take place at Viet Tri Stadium ( Phu Tho ).
