The world's first supercar that runs on plastic waste

At the Top Marques show in Monaco, Italian supercar manufacturer Bertone introduced the GB110, the world's first supercar powered by plastic waste.

In partnership with waste recycler Select Fuel, the company has developed patented technology to convert polycarbonate materials into renewable fuel.

This fuel is burned like gasoline in a 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V10 engine that produces 1,085 horsepower and a maximum torque of 1,100Nm.

The designer claims the GB110 can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 2.79 seconds, 0 to 200km/h in 6.79 seconds and reach 300km/h in just 14 seconds from a standstill, with a top speed of 380km/h.

Power is sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The body of the GB110 is unlike any other supercar on the market. The front of the car has a pair of narrow headlights and a thin body that stretches between the lights that jut out above.

The car's interior complements the aggressive exterior design with minimalist aesthetics.

A digital instrument cluster, flat-bottom steering wheel and large center console separate driver and passenger.

A small infotainment screen is integrated with a row of buttons on both sides of the steering wheel.

Bertone is one of the Italian supercar manufacturers with 110 years of history, went bankrupt in 2014 and was bought and revived by two businessmen.

The company plans to produce only 33 GB110s to celebrate its 110th anniversary.
