Bring light to the village

In late June, the Hand In Hand Vietnam - Korea Charity Group, belonging to the Vietnam - Korea University of Information Technology and Communications (University of Danang ) traveled to village 2B, Tra Tan commune to carry out the 2025 mass mobilization program.

Mr. Ho Thanh Binh, Head of Village 2B, said that the entire village has 65 Ca Dong households living, 90% of which are poor households. The village is located in the middle of the forest, the terrain is mainly hills and mountains, the road to the village is winding and dangerous, the people's lives are full of difficulties.

“Because it is far from the city center, the concerns of the people here are not only food and clothing but also the lack of healthcare and education . Up to now, the whole village still does not have a national electricity grid system, the source of domestic water must be brought from the stream,” Mr. Binh worried.

Understanding that difficulty, the charity group Hand In Hand Vietnam - Korea has implemented many practical and meaningful projects and tasks for the people and students here.

Head of the Hand In Hand Vietnam - Korea Charity Group Pham Tran Ngoc Thuy said that the highlight of this program is the project to bring light to people's lives. Accordingly, members assembled and planted 15 solar power poles at key locations in the village; and donated 20 solar power sets for home lighting to households.

In addition, 65 gifts of agricultural tools and supplies were given to support people in their daily life and work. In addition to the lighting project, the members also supported education and healthcare , joining hands to improve the environment and learning conditions for students here. Specifically, 80 gifts of school supplies and warm clothes were given to students; playgrounds, soccer fields, trash cans, medicine cabinets were installed, gifts were given to teachers, etc. The total value was more than 150 million VND.

Student Nguyen Anh Nha (Faculty of Computer Science) shared: “The mass mobilization program is not only an opportunity for students to experience and improve themselves, but also an opportunity for the young generation to contribute their health and intelligence, demonstrating their role and responsibility in contributing to the construction of the homeland in general, and the construction of new rural areas in particular.”

Connecting knowledge

Identifying education as one of the important criteria for new rural construction, at the beginning of the 2025 green summer volunteer campaign, 50 students from the University of Education (University of Danang) received 50 students from Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School (Hai Van Ward) as "sworn brothers".

Secretary of the Youth Union of the University of Education Nguyen Hoang Tinh Uyen said that this is a key activity of the Young Intellectuals Team to accompany and help students in their studies.

Student Vo Thi Ha Linh (Faculty of Physics - Chemistry) received her "sworn sister" Vo Nguyen Thanh Ngan (class 8/1) to support and guide her in studying in the coming school year. To make the program effective, the University of Education's Youth Union lent the students laptops and notebooks to create the best conditions for students in the highlands to study.

According to Mr. Pham Minh Vu, Principal of Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School, the "Twin Brothers" program does not only stop at supporting learning, but is also a journey of connecting knowledge, arousing the will and effort to rise in each student, adding motivation for them to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies.

Previously, the University of Education also sent experts to train school teachers on the use of artificial intelligence in teaching, contributing to improving the quality of education in the locality.

The delegation of Da Nang Vocational College has just completed the green summer program at Nuoc Oa Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities (Tra My commune).

To support students in the highlands to improve their learning conditions, the school donated 3 bookshelves with hundreds of books to help students have more resources to study and expand their knowledge. At the same time, 50 bunk beds in the dormitory were repainted, improving living and learning conditions for students.

In addition, the school also awarded 5 scholarships, each worth 1 million VND, to students who have overcome difficulties; and hundreds of gifts including books, school supplies, backpacks, clothes, etc. to further motivate students in the highlands to excel in their studies and life.
