Although rated higher than their opponents, U23 Vietnam was the team that conceded the first goal in the 36th minute. From a throw-in situation more than 25m from the left, Jian Caraig threw the ball straight into the penalty area. In the chaotic situation, Javier Mariona received the ball from his teammate's back header and kicked it into the U23 Vietnam net.

Just 5 minutes later, U23 Vietnam equalized the score thanks to Dinh Bac. The striker currently playing for Hanoi FC had a decisive shot, the ball hit the post and bounced out, but Dinh Bac quickly jumped in to score the rebound. The first half ended with a 1-1 draw.

In the second half, U23 Vietnam continued to dominate the game. In the 54th minute, the score was 2-1 for coach Kim Sang-sik and his team. Midfielder Xuan Bac headed the ball into the far corner of the U23 Philippines goalkeeper's goal.

At the end of the match, the difficulties became even more complicated when in the 90+4 minute, U23 Philippines' number 14 center back received a direct red card after blocking Quoc Viet's attack.

The match ended with a score of 2 - 1 in favor of U23 Vietnam.

Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team's opponent in the 2025 U23 Southeast Asian final will be the winner of the second semi-final between U23 Thailand and U23 Indonesia.
