Accordingly, the Food Safety Department received information reflecting on a suspected food poisoning incident that occurred at Ton Duc Thang Secondary School (address: Pleiku City, Gia Lai Province). Of which, about 21 students showed symptoms of stomachache, nausea and dizziness after eating food at the Mid-Autumn Festival party held in class 7/1.

Faced with the above situation, the Food Safety Department requested the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health to urgently suspend the operation of food suppliers suspected of causing food poisoning.

On the other hand, the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health organized an investigation and traced the origin of food to clearly identify the source of raw materials and food for the processing facility suspected of causing poisoning; took food samples and specimens for testing to find the cause.

Along with that, the Provincial Department of Health detects and strictly handles violations of food safety regulations (if any) and publicizes the results to promptly warn the community.

In addition, the Food Safety Department requested the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health to strengthen propaganda and guidance for collective kitchens and food service establishments to ensure hygiene and food safety conditions. The establishments must strictly manage the origin of food ingredients, conduct three-step food inspection, store food samples and maintain hygiene in processing stages.

In addition, the Food Safety Department requested the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health to strictly implement the contents of Official Dispatch No. 2487/BYT-ATTP dated May 11, 2024 and Official Dispatch No. 3113/BYT-ATTP dated June 7, 2024 of the Ministry of Health on preventing and handling food poisoning and strengthening food poisoning prevention.

As reported by Kinh te & Do thi Newspaper, at around 10:00 a.m. on September 16, the People's Committee of Thong Nhat Ward, Pleiku City, Gia Lai Province received a report from the Ward Health Station about suspected food poisoning in class 7/1 of Ton Duc Thang Secondary School.

Earlier that morning, the Parents' Association of class 7/1 organized a party for students on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, with milk tea purchased from the CBSG milk tea shop on Phung Hung street.

At around 9:30 a.m., some students began to experience symptoms of stomachache, nausea, and dizziness. The school's Board of Directors immediately contacted the Ward Health Station for inspection, verification, and support.

Through initial examination, out of 34 students who drank milk tea, 21 showed symptoms such as stomachache, dizziness, vomiting; the remaining 13 showed no symptoms.
