“Newbie” Airbus A320neo is about to join Vietnam Airlines fleet

Báo Nhân dânBáo Nhân dân14/06/2024

To meet passenger travel needs, Vietnam Airlines will receive 3 more Airbus A320neo aircraft in 2024. The airline is expected to receive the first aircraft in early July, the peak period of this year's summer travel season. The Airbus A320neo aircraft will contribute nearly 40,000 seats during the summer peak season and 299,000 seats in the second half of 2024. Vietnam Airlines plans to operate the Airbus A320neo on domestic routes such as Hanoi - Da Lat, Hanoi - Phu Quoc, Ho Chi Minh City - Thanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City - Chu Lai, etc. Receiving more aircraft is one of the important solutions to help Vietnam Airlines ensure meeting passenger travel needs during the summer peak season. This is especially meaningful in the context of the aviation industry lacking aircraft due to the impact of global engine recalls by manufacturers.
Vietnam Airlines Airbus A320neo aircraft have 182 seats, with 2 business and economy class cabins. The aircraft is equipped with a new generation engine, which helps save more than 16% of fuel consumption, reduce 75% of noise and reduce about 50% of toxic emissions compared to previous generation engines. Airbus A320neo is equipped with amenities similar to Vietnam Airlines Airbus A321neo aircraft such as IFE wireless entertainment system, size, width, seat recline, ... to help passengers have the most comfortable and relaxing journey.
Currently, to ensure supply and bring attractive airfares to passengers during the summer, Vietnam Airlines has been actively implementing synchronous solutions throughout the system.

Specifically, the airline has increased the operation of nearly 1 million seats (equivalent to more than 4,500 flights) on domestic routes in the late hours after 9:00 p.m. every day. Vietnam Airlines has opened for sale nearly 300,000 attractive air tickets with the program "Fly at night, more good prices" for customers buying tickets for early morning or late evening flights. The airline has also proactively optimized flight schedules and ground service procedures to reduce turnaround time, thereby increasing average operating hours and increasing the number of flights per aircraft. Vietnam Airlines will receive more wide-body Boeing 787-10 aircraft in the near future. This is one of the largest aircraft in the Boeing 787 family, and is also the largest passenger aircraft of Vietnam Airlines today.
