In the Indonesian presidential election in February this year, Mr. Prabowo Subianto - Indonesian Defense Minister won with nearly 60% of the vote. In the past 9 months, Mr. Prabowo spent a lot of time building a strong parliamentary coalition.
With this victory, Mr. Prabowo Subianto became the 8th President of Indonesia and the successor of the outgoing President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo. Previously, the new President of Indonesia Prabowo had run for election twice but failed. After the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Prabowo will give a speech to lawmakers in the upper house of parliament .

On his way to the inauguration palace, Mr Prabowo was greeted by thousands of supporters holding posters of the incoming leader.
Indonesian police and military imposed strict security measures, deploying at least 100,000 personnel across the city, including snipers and anti-riot units.
After taking office as President, Mr. Prabowo began implementing the goals of accelerating economic growth to 8%, helping Indonesia become self-sufficient in the production of staple goods and enhancing its more active role in the international arena.
The people of the "island country" expect a more dynamic era for the country under the leadership of a politician with 28 years of military service, time as Minister of Defense and time trying his hand in the business world.
In just five months since his February 14 presidential election, Mr. Prabowo has made more than 10 foreign visits to regions around the world, meeting with many heads of state in Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
He also stressed the importance of building strong relationships with countries in the South Asian and African regions.
