Defeating Thai Police, Vietnam People's Police II enters Southeast Asia final

A 2-1 victory over the Thai Police helped the Vietnam People's Police II team enter the finals of the 2025 Southeast Asian Police Football Tournament.

On the evening of July 13 at Hang Day Stadium, the Vietnam People's Police II team had a convincing victory over the Thai Police in the semi-finals of the 2025 Southeast Asian Police Football Tournament.

With the core of players and assistants from the professional team PVF-CAND, which is competing in the National First Division, Vietnam People's Police II almost dominated the game against the Thai Police.

In the 14th minute, Mai Tien Thanh crossed the ball for Tran Duc Nam to head the ball into the net, putting Vietnam People's Police II in the lead.

In the 34th minute, Thai Police equalized 1-1 after a well-organized corner kick. Center back Songkran Paungnoy sneaked down to the bottom of the line and then ran back to head the ball from his teammate's precise cross, eliminating the entire professional defense of PVF-CAND.

After the equalizer, the Thai Police continued to play defensively and counterattackingly. However, the Thai representative's attempt to drag the match into a penalty shootout was foiled by the fierce attack of the Vietnam People's Police II team.

In the 50th minute, Nguyen Nhu Tuan scored to raise the score to 2-1 after a chaotic situation in the Thai Police penalty area. In the erratic situation, the Thai defenders and goalkeeper did not understand each other, creating conditions for the Vietnamese player to easily tap the ball into the net.

This was also the final score of the match, because in the remaining time, coach Nguyen Anh Tuan's team created many scoring opportunities but could not take advantage to increase the gap.

This result helps Vietnam People's Public Security II enter the final and meet their opponent Cambodia.

In the first semi-final a few hours earlier, Cambodia defeated Timor Leste 11-10 in a penalty shootout (2-2 draw in 90 minutes).

The final match of the 2025 Southeast Asian Police Football Tournament will take place at 7:00 p.m. on July 15 at Hang Day Stadium.
