More than 11,400 candidates across the province completed the two exams of English and Math this morning, May 30. According to reporters in Dakrong, Gio Linh and Vinh Linh districts, with the active and responsible support from schools, youth unions and parents, most students were confident and excited to have completed the two exams well in the morning.

At the Dakrong High School exam site (Dakrong district), there are about 380 candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year. Support activities for candidates are of interest to the Dakrong School Youth Union and commune unions and volunteer organizations and are implemented with many practical and effective activities. Secretary of the Dakrong High School Youth Union Nguyen Phuong Nam said that the candidates participating at the Dakrong High School site are mostly ethnic minorities, facing difficult circumstances and far from the exam site. The school's Youth Union has coordinated with commune unions and philanthropists to support 200 free lunches and drinks for candidates; arranged for 30 candidates to stay for a lunch break and many other practical activities to help them ensure their health, comfortable mentality, and excitement to complete the exam well.

In Gio Linh district, there are about 1,355 candidates participating in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year, at 3 testing sites: Gio Linh High School, Con Tien High School and Cua Viet High School. At Gio Linh High School, this morning, most candidates did well in the two subjects of Math and English. Of which, Math is considered quite difficult, English is "easier" and within the candidates' ability. Talking to reporters, candidate Le Thi Lien Hoa, a student at Gio Linh Town Middle School, happily said: "Before the exam, I finished my review early and arranged a reasonable rest time. Today, because my house is nearby, I took the initiative to ride an electric motorbike to the testing site early in the morning to have a comfortable mindset before taking the exam. I did well in both Math and English. Although the exam was quite difficult, I am confident that I can get an 8 and am ready to do well in the Literature exam this afternoon."

Although the weather this morning was hot and humid, many parents still accompanied, stood by, and waited for their children before the exam site. Mr. Le Van Toan, Cam Pho village, Gio My commune, Gio Linh district said: “I am raising two children alone, this year, my eldest daughter is taking the 10th grade exam. Although my daughter is always well-behaved and studious, both father and daughter are very worried and nervous before the important exam. Today, I put my work aside to take my daughter to the exam. When the drum beat signaled the end of the exam this morning, I quickly went in to pick up my daughter, asked her questions closely, and was happy to hear that she did well in both subjects. I will try to take care of her food and rest so that she can be in a comfortable spirit during the exam this afternoon.”

This year, Vinh Linh district has about 1,320 candidates taking the entrance exam for grade 10. According to the general assessment this morning, the examination councils all strictly implemented the examination regulations, upholding the sense of responsibility to ensure the exam took place safely and in accordance with regulations. In addition, the forces of the health sector, police, youth union... also proactively coordinated to perform their duties well, ensuring security and order, supporting health and transportation, helping candidates and parents feel secure and confident during the exam.
