Accordingly, from August 28, credit institutions with a credit growth rate of 80% or more in 2024 as announced by the State Bank of Vietnam in early 2024 will be allowed to proactively adjust their credit balance based on the credit institution's rating score. This additional limit is proactively taken by the State Bank of Vietnam without the need for credit institutions to request it.
At the same time, the State Bank of Vietnam requires credit institutions to strictly implement the instructions on monetary and credit activities and regulations on credit granting of the State Bank of Vietnam to improve business efficiency, ensure system safety and stabilize the monetary market. Safe, effective and healthy credit growth, limit the increase and occurrence of bad debts, ensure the safety of credit institutions' operations; direct credit to production sectors, priority sectors, sectors that are the driving force of economic growth according to the policies of the Government and the Prime Minister; strictly control sectors with potential risks.
Credit institutions continue to maintain stable deposit interest rates and increase the implementation of solutions to reduce operating costs, simplify lending procedures, apply information technology and digital transformation to reduce lending interest rates. Provide credit to customers in accordance with legal regulations, strengthen credit risk control measures, and ensure credit quality.
The representative of the State Bank of Vietnam affirmed that in the coming time, this agency will continue to closely follow domestic and international market developments, be ready to support liquidity to create conditions for credit institutions to supply credit to the economy and promptly have appropriate monetary policy management solutions.
