Information that Coach Park Hang-seo is running to lead the Malaysian team is false.

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên01/09/2024

Information about Coach Park Hang-seo running for the position of coach of the Malaysian national team appeared in the media in recent days, after the President of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Datuk Hamidin Amin confirmed that Mr. Park was one of the candidates to lead the national team of this country.

However, Coach Park Hang-seo's representative Lee Dong-jun denied the above information, emphasizing that the Korean coach has never applied for or negotiated with FAM for the position of head coach. According to Mr. Lee, DJ Management Company and FAM have had discussions and agreements on many issues, but there is no content emphasizing that Mr. Park will coach the Malaysian team. FAM's announcement of the above information may affect the image of Coach Park Hang-seo.

Malaysian football fans are expecting coach Park Hang-seo to lead the national team of this country. In a poll initiated by Astro Arena, the name Park Hang-seo was ranked first as the coach expected to replace Kim Pan-gon in the Malaysian team.

The former coach of the Vietnamese national team received more than 60% of the votes from about 400 voters, as of noon on July 18.

Although the voting still lasted for nearly a day, Mr. Park Hang-seo's votes far surpassed Pau Marti Vicente, who was recently appointed by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to replace Kim Pan-gon. Pau Marti only received 11.4% of the votes.

In fact, the Spanish coach's votes were also lower than Kim Pan-gon's predecessor, Tan Cheng Hoe (12.6% of the votes). Another name included in the vote was Nafuzi Zain, who is currently in charge of Kedah Darul Aman Club. Coach Nafuzi Zain came second in the vote, receiving 15.2% of the votes.

After leaving the Vietnam national team in January 2023, Coach Park Hang-seo has not returned to coaching, but has developed personal projects. He opened an international football academy in Vietnam and also served as an advisor for the million-dollar football team Bac Ninh . However, Bac Ninh failed to participate in the first division when they lost to Ho Chi Minh City Youth Club (now Ho Chi Minh City Youth) on penalties.
