At the meeting, the leader of the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), Mr. Wei Yingbiao, the Group's permanent Deputy General Director, said that COMAC with a total investment of about 50 billion yuan and 18,000 employees is focusing on producing C919 and ARJ21 aircraft lines, supplying many partners around the world .

Regarding COMAC's production and business strategy, Mr. Wei Ying Biao said that Vietnam is a large and potential market. COMAC has been cooperating with Vietjet Air - the largest private airline in Vietnam to establish a joint working group to discuss technical issues.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated COMAC’s achievements in research and development of modern commercial aircraft; with the respect for time and intelligence, in a short time, COMAC has successfully developed aircraft lines, contributing to diversifying the market for supplying modern commercial aircraft. The Prime Minister believes that COMAC will make great strides in developing aircraft lines, especially wide-body aircraft, to compete with the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers.

It is said that in recent times, with the joint efforts of both sides, the Vietnam - China relationship is developing increasingly deeply, substantially and comprehensively, in which aviation cooperation helps connect and promote trade and investment, which is highly valued by Vietnam.

Welcoming COMAC to promote cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises, especially in researching and evaluating aircraft to be able to choose suitable ones for Vietnam and carry out highly effective flights, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that COMAC continue to develop cooperative relations with Vietnamese aviation enterprises to soon have cooperation, helping to diversify Vietnam's fleet.

Along with that, the Prime Minister suggested that COMAC study cooperation and exploit other flight routes in Vietnam and between Vietnam and China; support Vietnam in developing science and technology, and exploiting space to serve the country's development.

Agreeing with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s opinion, the Permanent Deputy General Director of COMAC Group said that he will closely coordinate with Vietjet to implement the project; hoping that the Vietnamese Government will continue to pay attention, create conditions and support cooperation between Vietjet and COMAC, and soon realize the wishes of the leaders of the two countries.
