Vietnam - Russia teacher-student relationship through exhibition in Moscow (Russia)

During her visit to the Russian Federation on July 23, Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly, wife of General Secretary To Lam, attended the opening of the art exhibition “Teacher - Student: Melody of the Journey” at the Russian Academy of Arts. The event honored the close teacher-student relationship between generations of Vietnamese and Russian artists, adding to the 75 years of friendship between the two nations.

According to information from the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), at the invitation of the Government of the Russian Federation and the St. Petersburg city government, Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly, wife of General Secretary To Lam, visited the Russian Federation and participated in cultural diplomacy activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Russia. On July 23, in Moscow, Ms. Ngo Phuong Ly attended the opening ceremony of the special art exhibition entitled "Teacher - Student: Melody of the Journey" at the Russian Academy of Arts. At the event, she was awarded the Gold Medal "For the deserving" by the Russian Academy of Arts for her positive contributions to the development of art and international cultural relations.

The program was attended by Mr. Le Hai Binh, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Ngo Le Van, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Dang Minh Khoi, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia; Mr. Andrey Malayshev, Deputy Minister of Culture of Russia; Mr. Gennady Bezdetko, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam; Ms. Maria Zakharova, Director of the Department of Information and Press, Spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Vasily Tsereteli, Director of the Russian Academy of Arts.

In his opening speech, Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh said that the 75-year journey of Vietnam-Russia relations has been built on the foundation of profound cultural cooperation and strong friendship bridges between the people of the two countries. He quoted the Russian proverb: "A teacher is the second father of every person", thereby affirming that the Vietnam-Russia teacher-student relationship has, is and will continue to create a loyal bond between the two peoples.

Russian Deputy Minister of Culture Andrey Malyshev expressed his appreciation for the long-standing cooperation in art training between the two countries, considering the exhibition a vivid demonstration of the strong friendship and inspiring exchange of the two cultures. Director of the Russian Academy of Arts Vasily Tsereteli shared the honor of organizing the exhibition, which brings together paintings, sculptures, graphics and decorative arts by many generations of Vietnamese and Russian artists.

The exhibition introduces about 90 paintings, graphics, sculptures and decorative arts by artists of many generations - from big names in the Soviet and Russian fine arts, to Vietnamese students who have studied at Russian art academies since 1962. Among them are 5 works by People's Artist Ngo Manh Lan - father of Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly - created during his time studying in the Soviet Union.

Madam Ngo Phuong Ly affirmed that the exhibition is a beautiful testament to the Vietnam-Russia teacher-student relationship, vividly reflecting the long-lasting friendship between the two countries and reminding today's generation to continue that cultural flow to step together firmly into the future. On this occasion, she presented the Academy with a painting by a Vietnamese artist on Do paper, sending a message of a warm and bright tomorrow for Vietnam-Russia relations.

The exhibition is open until September 28 at the Russian Academy of Arts, Moscow.
