Organizing the 80th anniversary of the first General Election Day ensures solemnity and practicality

On the morning of January 25, at the National Assembly House, the Organizing Committee for the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026) held its first meeting. Politburo member, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, Deputy Head of the Standing Steering Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Organizing Committee, said that the National Assembly Office has closely coordinated with the Central Propaganda Department to report to the Secretariat on the implementation of the Project to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly, issued plans to implement the Project; advised on organizing meetings of the Steering Committee on organizing cultural and artistic activities to celebrate; implemented the special ministerial-level scientific research project "Vietnam National Assembly - 80 years of construction, innovation and development"...

At the meeting, the members of the Organizing Committee reviewed the work carried out according to the Organization Project, agreed on the content to issue an implementation plan. The delegates approved the report, drafted accompanying documents, and agreed on the establishment and tasks of the Subcommittees to help the Organizing Committee carry out activities.

Concluding the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man acknowledged and highly appreciated the members of the Organizing Committee and the National Assembly Office for their prompt, active and proactive work implementation; at the same time, he requested the National Assembly Office to fully absorb the opinions expressed at the meeting in order to promptly complete the draft documents.

Noting the requirements of the Secretariat on the implementation of the Project to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly, the Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly emphasized that activities need to demonstrate the significance and great historical stature of the event; select appropriate content and organize well the celebration activities, ensuring solemnity, practicality, effectiveness and compliance with regulations.

Agreeing with the establishment of the Subcommittees to assist the Organizing Committee, and agreeing with the draft Plan for implementing the Project, the Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly suggested that the Organizing Committee soon sign and issue the Plan, as a basis for implementing the work to ensure efficiency and progress.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly requested the National Assembly Office, National Assembly agencies, relevant agencies and units to proactively develop projects, plans, detailed scenarios, assign tasks, specific implementation progress and estimate costs for assigned tasks from the state budget; closely coordinate with central and local agencies, ministries and sectors during the implementation process, to ensure effective implementation of work on schedule.
