On December 27, US President-elect Donald Trump filed a petition with the Supreme Court asking for a temporary stay of the TikTok ban until his administration can pursue a " political solution" to the issue.
The request comes as TikTok and the administration of incumbent US President Joe Biden file opposing reports in court.
In particular, TikTok argued that the court should reject the law that could ban the platform on January 19, 2025, while the US government emphasized the view that this law is necessary to eliminate national security risks.
