The student dressed her stuffed animal Labubu in her graduation gown and walked her on stage to receive her diploma. After the vice-chancellor performed the tassel twirling ceremony on her cap, she asked him to do the same for her Labubu.

Although it was a surprise, the school leader performed the ceremony in a fun and humorous manner, causing the female student's stuffed animal Labubu to be nicknamed "Labubu with the highest degree in China" by the Chinese online community.

This incident just happened during the graduation ceremony at Tsinghua University, China's top prestigious university. The video recording this moment was shared widely on social media platforms in China.

The female student later shared on her personal social media account that she had specially ordered a graduation gown for her stuffed animal Labubu, so that she could bring her favorite toy onto the graduation stage.

After the tassel-twirling ceremony, the female student asked the vice-principal if he could also twirl her Labubu. “At first, he was a bit confused, but he agreed to twirl my Labubu,” the female student shared on social media.

After performing the graduation ceremony for both the female student and her favorite toy, the vice principal asked quietly: “Is this Labubu, the hot toy?”

In fact, recently, many Chinese students have brought stuffed animals like Labubu or Chiikawa to the stage to receive their diplomas.

At the recent graduation ceremony of Tsinghua University, a graduate student of the school also attracted attention when she brought Labubu on stage to receive her master's degree. She also asked the school leaders to perform a tassel-twirling ceremony for the toy.

On Chinese social media, many people think that bringing popular toys like Labubu or Chiikawa to the stage to receive their diplomas is a funny and cute act. However, there are also people who think that this behavior is not serious, making the graduation ceremony less solemn.

Responding to the criticism, the Tsinghua University student who brought Labubu on stage to receive her bachelor’s degree said: “I have studied very hard. This toy has accompanied me, helping me overcome difficult times in my studies and life. There is nothing to laugh at when Labubu comes to receive my diploma.”
