On April 30, at the Hien Luong - Ben Hai National Historical Site, a solemn, sacred and meaningful flag-raising ceremony was held. The ceremony was also an opportunity to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs and demonstrate the spirit of national solidarity.

On April 30, at the Hien Luong-Ben Hai National Special Relic Site ( Quang Tri ), the red flag with a yellow star was raised, opening the "National Reunification" Festival. This is an event to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024), and the 52nd anniversary of the liberation of Quang Tri province (May 1, 1972 - May 1, 2024).

Speaking at the event, Mr. Hoang Nam, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, shared that the war has receded into the past, but the memories of those heroic and glorious years still live forever in the hearts of every Vietnamese person. He emphasized: "Ben Hai-Hien Luong has been engraved in the history of the nation and the subconscious of humanity, forever a shining symbol of faith and aspiration for peace , national unity, the will and strength of the Vietnamese people in the struggle for national liberation and the cause of building socialism".

Through the flag-raising ceremony, participants recall the past, mark the glorious milestones in the country's history and at the same time honor the values of unity, solidarity and peace, looking towards a bright and prosperous future.

This is an opportunity to look back on the past, honor those who sacrificed and contributed to the country’s unity and peace. The event reminds everyone of the importance of protecting peace and national unity.

The banks of Hien Luong-Ben Hai are not only an important historical site but also a tourist attraction due to its beautiful natural beauty. Within the framework of the program, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a boat race on Ben Hai river with the participation of 8 teams representing districts and cities of Quang Tri province.
