On May 18, at the Hanoi Museum, the thematic exhibition "Uncle Ho with the Capital Hanoi " and the art space "Lotus Calligraphy" opened, welcoming the public to visit on the occasion of the 133rd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2023).

Delegates performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the thematic exhibition "Uncle Ho with the Capital Hanoi".

The program was organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace and the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association after nearly 5 months of research, collection, and preparation of exhibition content.

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Do Dinh Hong said: During his revolutionary career, Hanoi was the place where President Ho Chi Minh was attached the longest (17 years, from 1945-1946 and from 1954-1969). Hanoi marks 292 places related to President Ho Chi Minh, associated with many important historical events of the country. His thoughts, feelings and thoughtful, profound advice are now invaluable legacies, guiding all activities of the Party Committee, government and people of Hanoi, contributing to building the cultural capital to be increasingly civilized and modern.

In the thematic exhibition "Uncle Ho with the Capital Hanoi", 200 images, documents and valuable relics are divided into 3 themes.

The first part “Hanoi Capital with Uncle Ho” introduces many documents and artifacts about the places that marked important milestones in Uncle Ho’s revolutionary activities in Hanoi. These are images of Hanoi welcoming Uncle Ho, responding to his call, contributing spiritually and materially to the resistance through the rice jar movement to save famine, eradicate illiteracy, rallies, elections, etc. This is also the part that displays many documents about the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace and images of the day Uncle Ho passed away.

The second part “Uncle Ho with Hanoi Capital” displays documents and images showing Uncle Ho’s care and guidance for the Party, government and people of Hanoi in the fields of: Party building, government, security and defense, economic development, cultural development, health care and education. This exhibition also includes many documents and images about his feelings for all classes of people.

The third part “Hanoi follows Uncle Ho’s teachings” displays documents and images about the unceasing efforts, endeavors, and solidarity of the Party Committee, government, and people of Hanoi to build the capital city to become more and more developed, civilized, and modern. Including documents and images about the capital’s development planning, achievements in economic development, Party and government building, and the development of elegant and civilized Hanoians.

At the opening ceremony, the capital’s people and tourists also listened to and interacted with historical witnesses and donated artifacts to the Hanoi Museum. They were Ms. Le Thi Bich Chau, who donated a photo of President Ho Chi Minh with children (including Ms. Bich Chau as a child); Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga, who donated a photo taken with President Ho Chi Minh at the Capital Sports Festival in 1961; Mr. Nguyen Tien Cuong - representative of the family of artisan Pham Quang Xuan, who donated a pair of rubber sandals, a restoration of President Ho Chi Minh’s rubber sandals…

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam introduces the art space "Sen calligraphy".

In addition, an important content also exhibited on this occasion is the art space "Lotus calligraphy" with many poems of President Ho Chi Minh and meaningful quotes about life. 40 calligraphy works combined with lotus paintings belong to the collection "Lotus in Vietnamese cultural life" by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam - a record holder recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization as the owner of a diverse collection of works with lotus images and has been exhibited in many places in the country.

The exhibition will take place at the Hanoi Museum until the end of 2023.
