On November 30, Da Nang International Airport announced that from January 1, 2025, it will start collecting fees for providing services to passengers using priority lanes at security screening checkpoints.

Accordingly, the service deployment point is at Terminal T1. Da Nang Airport is the first place in our country to deploy this service.

Accordingly, the passengers subject to the fee collection are CIP passengers (business class pick-up and drop-off service) of Vietnamese airlines, business class passengers or equivalent of airlines, passengers who are members of the loyalty program of Vietnamese airlines who are allowed to enter the priority lane at the screening checkpoint.

Mr. Phan Kieu Hung, Director of Da Nang International Airport, said that this area will have a separate entrance for priority passengers (priority entrance) to undergo security screening.

The area will have directional signs, security control forces are equipped with specialized machinery and equipment to conduct separate security screening according to regulations.

According to Mr. Hung, the service of charging passengers to use priority lanes at security screening checkpoints is a non-aviation service, does not affect the supply capacity and quality of air transport services, and does not change the aviation security control process.

Previously, Da Nang International Airport also sent a dispatch to domestic airlines stating that it would begin providing priority lane services at security screening points with a fee of VND100,000/passenger (excluding VAT).

According to statistics, at Da Nang International Airport, the trend of passengers using priority lanes is increasing, with about 300 passengers per day during peak periods.

Currently, airports in our country all have priority lanes to serve subjects according to the State's standards and passengers who are social policy subjects (elderly people, children, people with disabilities, pregnant women, etc.).

However, sharing priority lanes with business class passengers and CIP of airlines sometimes leads to overload, affecting service to subjects according to State regulations.

Many airports around the world have implemented

Currently, the service of charging passengers to use priority lanes at security screening points is part of the Fast-Track service deployed by many airports around the world. Many airports classify fees according to the service such as: domestic flights, international flights.

The priority lane service is intended to help passengers who are doing security screening procedures at the terminal avoid having to wait in line. At the same time, the entrance to the security control gate is cleared quickly, avoiding local congestion of passengers doing security screening procedures at some peak times.
