Vietnam men's volleyball team finished second in SEA V.League...

Successfully avenging the defeat against the Philippines in the first leg with a 3-1 victory in the rematch on the afternoon of July 20, the Vietnamese team won second place in the SEA V.League 2025.

The overwhelming victory after 4 matches (25-23, 21-25, 25-17, 25-16) of the Vietnamese team made fans even more regretful about the results of the first round. In the confrontation more than a week ago in the Philippines, the team of coach Tran Dinh Tien lost the opening match against the home team with an unbelievable score of 0-3.

This result meant that the Vietnamese team's efforts afterwards - winning against Cambodia and defending champion Thailand - could only place third in a stage with 5 participating teams. The necessary and important lesson is that Quan Trong Nghia and his teammates knew how to stand up right at the place of failure to start again in stage 2.

Still winning against Cambodia and Thailand, on the afternoon of July 20, the Vietnamese team got revenge against the Philippines despite some difficulties, defeating the opponent after 4 games. This much-needed victory brought the Vietnamese team to second place in the table, almost certainly holding the runner-up position in the second leg of the SEA V.League 2025, similar to the result 2 years ago.

This result and ranking were completely within the experts' predictions, as the Vietnamese men's team played better and better, showing great cohesion and determination in their playing style. Coach Tran Dinh Tien's team became the "nemesis" of the Thais, easily defeating the new recruit Cambodia and reclaiming their true position when facing the Philippines.

It is not that there are no elementary mistakes, from the second line defense to the first line defense, causing the Vietnamese team to pay the price many times. However, apart from Indonesia, who are still above their level, Vietnam has known how to fill in the weaknesses to "make up for the defense with offense", taking advantage of the attacking power to achieve the expected results.

The two SEA V.League stages are almost the last training camp for the Vietnamese team. The team will return to their home club, compete in the second round of the National Championship, and wait for the day to compete at the 33rd SEA Games at the end of the year. There are still many challenges and countless lessons for the Vietnamese team on their journey to reach the continental level.
