The Vietnamese futsal team had their first friendly match with the host in Argentina. Coach Diego Giustozzi and his team could not surprise the reigning world runner-up.
The Argentine team completely dominated the match after the opening whistle. The home team's goalkeeper even opened the score. In the 3rd minute, goalkeeper Matias Starna carried the ball across the halfway line before shooting diagonally past Ho Van Y. However, the Vietnamese futsal team unexpectedly equalized just 1 minute later. Thai Huy finished accurately after a cross-field combination with Duc Hoa.

But that was all the Vietnamese futsal team could do. Coach Matias Lucuix and his team completely dominated. Before the first half ended, Pablo Vidal raised the score to 2-1 after a rhythmic attack with his teammates.
The game did not change much in the second half. Argentina's third goal was marked by individuality. Nicolas Lachaga pressed and used his technique to get past both Tran Quang Toan and goalkeeper Van Y, before assisting Luciano Gauna to finish into an empty net.
Nicolas Rosa sealed the 4-1 victory after a counter-attack. The two teams will play again at 6:00 a.m. on June 14 in Rosario, Vietnam time. This is also the last friendly match of the Vietnamese futsal team during their training trip in South America.
The team is preparing for the 2024 Asian Futsal Championship qualifiers. From matches like these, Coach Giustozzi can evaluate the quality of the players and the ability of the teams to coordinate before coming up with the most effective tactical plan.
