Screening for congenital heart disease in children is part of the charity program "Heart for Children" jointly organized by the National Children's Hospital, Tam Long Viet Fund (Vietnam Television), the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group ( Viettel ) and Ha Giang General Hospital.
Of nearly 800 children screened, 22 cases were found to have heart defects; 10 cases required intervention and surgery; 11 cases needed monitoring.
The charity program "Heart for Children" was founded and operated by the Military Telecommunications Industry Group and the Vietnamese Heart Fund since 2008.

This is a large-scale humanitarian charity program, one of the long-term community projects in Vietnam. The program cooperates with dozens of large hospitals with cardiovascular specialties to screen and perform surgery for patients nationwide.
After 17 years of implementing humanitarian surgery for children under 18 years old in difficult circumstances, the program "Heart for Children" has supported surgery for more than 7,700 pediatric patients, organized 117 congenital heart disease screening programs for nearly 200,000 children nationwide.
