As one of the pioneering households in growing flowers in the locality, Mr. Thanh happily said: in 2018, his family borrowed 400 million VND from the City Agricultural Promotion Fund to grow lilies, and paid the debt on time in 2020. In September 2022, he developed a plan to grow 50,000 lily plants and received a loan of 400 million VND from the Fund, and has now completed the loan repayment.

“Thanks to the timely capital from the Agricultural Promotion Fund, I have more motivation to expand production. In recent years (2021 - 2023), I have made a profit every year from growing lilies,” said Mr. Thanh.

Mr. Thanh is the owner of 4 flower gardens with an area of over 1 hectare, a reputable flower supplier in Hanoi and some neighboring provinces. With more than 20 types of flowers, from cut flowers (Lily, chrysanthemum, trumpet ...) to potted flowers, gourd flowers, decorative hanging flowers, carpet flowers, grafted flowers, on average each type from 2,000 - 10,000 pots. The entire area is produced in greenhouses, net houses, so the productivity and quality are high, each year bringing in an income of over 1 billion VND.

“Although there are many loan channels that can be accessed, I consider the Agricultural Extension Fund to be a reliable support for production development, because the loan amount and loan term are suitable for the family's production scale. During the loan application process, I was also enthusiastically guided through the procedures by the staff of the Phuc Tho Agricultural Extension Station (now the Phuc Tho District Agricultural Service Center). The best thing is that there are always agricultural extension officers in charge of accompanying and advising from designing the farm to buying seedlings and care techniques,” said Mr. Thanh.

When asked about the production and business situation in 2024, especially the flower crop serving the Lunar New Year market in 2025, Mr. Kieu Binh Thanh shared that, grasping the tastes, this year, gardeners grow many short-term flower varieties that are affordable for consumers; small, pretty flower pots that cost only a few tens to a few hundred thousand VND will sell more easily and consumers will also buy more. With precious and perennial flowers such as roses, teas, orchids, etc., gardeners continue to propagate, prune, and create high-value bonsai trees.

The Tet flower market this year will continue to focus on traditional flower varieties, hanging flowers, carpet flowers... Potted flowers such as lucky bamboo, chrysanthemum, nightingale, weeping chrysanthemum, primrose, gerbera... will have good consumption. In addition, some new flower varieties continue to be imported to meet consumer demand. Up to this point, not only Mr. Thanh's household but hundreds of flower growers in Tich Giang have increased the quantity and variety of flowers to serve the diverse needs of customers and people who play Tet flowers.
