According to the People's Committee of Quang Tri town, in 2023, the locality suffered a deficit in the state budget revenue in the area (excluding land use fees) of more than 14.5 billion VND.

Although the Town People's Committee has proactively saved in implementing expenditure tasks and mobilized other local resources to compensate for the budget deficit in 2023, the mobilized amount was only 5.4 billion VND. Therefore, the Quang Tri Town People's Committee had to transfer nearly 9.2 billion VND of the 2023 revenue deficit to 2024 for handling.
In 2024, the Town People's Committee will continue to use funding sources to offset the revenue shortfall in 2023, with a total amount of more than 4.7 billion VND. The remaining budget shortfall of more than 4.4 billion VND will be carried forward to 2025.
However, in the face of the impending end of district-level government operations, the People's Committee of Quang Tri town decided to ask the Provincial People's Committee for support to completely handle the budget deficit in 2023.
