Attending the conference were Chairman of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations Nguyen Ngoc Ky, Chairman of the Hanoi UNESCO Association Truong Minh Tien, and representatives of many city agencies.
According to the report at the conference, by seriously implementing the policies of the Central Government, the city and the direction of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations in people-to-people diplomacy, the Association has maintained solidarity and unity in the Board of Directors, the Standing Committee, the Executive Committee and achieved many outstanding results.
In the first six months of the year, the association's units organized 191 cultural and artistic performances to serve the central and local political tasks on the occasion of New Year, Lunar New Year, the founding day of the Communist Party of Vietnam , the anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday and other major national holidays.
In addition, the Association continues to cooperate with the Old Quarter Management Board and the Department of Culture and Sports in managing, preserving and promoting the values of the capital's cultural heritage. Some units of the Association regularly organize performances to introduce intangible cultural heritage to the public, people, domestic and foreign tourists at some major events at Hoan Kiem Lake walking street. The Hanoi UNESCO Center for Fine Arts has 5 artists participating in the International Exhibition of Paintings and Art Sculptures in Korea (including 18 European and Asian countries)...
Many units have carried out social charity activities well inside and outside the city, helping policy beneficiaries, victims of Agent Orange, the poor... Typical are the UNESCO Sen Viet Art Group supporting 30 million VND; the UNESCO Huong Sac Viet Art Group supporting the poor in the highlands of Ha Giang and joining with units to support Dong Trieu K Hospital; the UNESCO Center for Young Creative Cultural Industries in Hanoi sponsored 12 exhibition spaces, launching works and videos for artists and entrepreneurs with an estimated amount of 200 million VND...
The above activities of the Hanoi UNESCO Association have enhanced the dissemination of the cultural values of the Capital, continuing to contribute to promoting the people's diplomacy of Hanoi city.
In the coming time, the Hanoi UNESCO Association will continue to strengthen its organization, expand its activities in its units, and at the same time, research and establish more units in the fields of schools, scientific research and cultural heritage. The Association will also maintain and improve the quality of traditional activities such as music and dance festivals, exhibitions, and art displays; promote social and charitable work. At the same time, the Association will apply technology and establish electronic information channels to enhance domestic and international interaction and connection.
