Who is this year's youngest Professor candidate?

TPO – In the list of 729 candidates for Professor and Associate Professor just announced by the State Council of Professors, this year, there is 1 youngest Professor candidate who is 38 years old and 1 youngest Associate Professor candidate who is 32 years old.

The State Council of Professors (SPC) has just announced a list of 729 candidates proposed for recognition as Professors and Associate Professors in 2024 by the sectoral/interdisciplinary SPCs. Of which, the list of 673 candidates proposed by 26/28 sectoral/interdisciplinary SPCs has been made public. The two sectors that did not make their candidates public are the SPCs of Military Science and Security Science.

The candidate proposed to be recognized as the youngest professor this year is Associate Professor Dr. Tran Quoc Trung, born in 1986. This year, Mr. Trung is 38 years old.

Mr. Trung was born in Quang Nam . He is currently Deputy Director of Campus II, Foreign Trade University in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Trung has a master's and doctorate in France, recognized and appointed to the title of Associate Professor in 2020 - 2021.

Before being recognized as Associate Professor, Mr. Trung published 35 scientific articles, of which 14 were published in international journals. After being recognized and appointed as Associate Professor, he published 29 articles, of which 19 were published in international journals.

Previously, Mr. Trung was voted Outstanding Young Teacher of Ho Chi Minh City for many consecutive years; and Outstanding Young Citizen of Ho Chi Minh City in 2016.

This year, there is a candidate proposed to be recognized as the youngest Associate Professor born in 1992. That is Dr. Do Quang Loc, currently working at the University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

Dr. Do Quang Loc

Dr. Loc was born in Lang Son. He has worked at the University of Natural Sciences since 2014. From 2023, he was appointed Deputy Head of the Department of Radio Physics, Faculty of Physics, University of Natural Sciences. Before defending his doctoral thesis, Mr. Loc had 14 scientific articles published in domestic and international journals. After obtaining his doctoral degree, Mr. Loc had 48 articles published in domestic and international journals.
