The People's Procuracy of Quang Tri and Savannakhet provinces signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation.

This morning, July 17, in Dong Ha City, a meeting and signing of a memorandum of understanding took place between the People's Procuracy of Quang Tri province and the People's Procuracy of Savannakhet province (Laos).

At the meeting, the two sides informed each other about the socio-economic situation, national defense and security; the crime situation of each province, especially in the Vietnam - Laos border area; exchanged work experiences; assessed the results of cooperation between the People's Procuracy of Quang Tri province and the People's Procuracy of Savannakhet province; the implementation of the contents of the agreement signed by the People's Procuracy of Quang Tri province and the People's Procuracy of Savannakhet province during the visit and work of the delegation of the People's Procuracy of Quang Tri province at the People's Procuracy of Savannakhet province from March 27 to 30, 2018.

The People's Procuracies of the two provinces agreed to evaluate the results of the visit and working session of the delegation of the People's Procuracy of Savannakhet province this time, promoting the traditional friendship, special solidarity and deep cooperation between the People's Procuracies of the two provinces.

To continue to consolidate and strengthen the relationship, the two sides discussed the direction and plan for cooperation in the coming time and agreed on the following contents: The People's Procuracy of the two provinces will continue to organize delegations to visit and work alternately every 2 years to exchange experiences in prosecution work, depending on the conditions and capabilities of each side.

The People's Procuracies of the two provinces will strengthen support and cooperation in professional prosecution activities and judicial assistance activities according to the Judicial Assistance Agreements signed between Vietnam and Laos, especially the Criminal Judicial Assistance Agreement between Vietnam and Laos signed on January 8, 2020.

The two sides agreed to exchange information on judicial activities and information on crime situations occurring in the Laos-Vietnam border area to coordinate with the functional agencies of the two provinces to fight and prevent crime in the border areas of the two countries, contributing to the socio-economic development of the two provinces.

Quang Tri Provincial People's Procuracy supported some working machines and equipment, exchanged experiences in applying information technology in digitizing documents, case reports using mind maps and methods of criminal investigation and prosecution for professional civil servants of Savannakhet Provincial People's Procuracy.
