The conference was organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in collaboration with the Vietnam Association of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, the Vietnam National Association of Cardiology and Yonsei University (Korea), to share medical advances, update new techniques, and aim to develop the first professional recommendations in Vietnam for this technique.

According to Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Nguyen Hoang Bac, Director of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Vietnam Valves 2025 is the first conference to gather experts on TAVI technique - an important milestone in the strategy of developing interventional cardiology in Vietnam, expected to be an in-depth academic forum with high applicability, contributing to expanding access to TAVI technique and promoting professional consensus in the treatment of heart valve disease in Vietnam.

The conference is not only an update, but also a multi-specialty - multi-generational connection point, to standardize heart valve treatment, aiming at patients. This is a valuable learning and networking opportunity for young doctors, teams that are implementing or preparing to implement TAVI at their units, contributing to promoting the development of the network of heart valve centers in Vietnam in the near future.

TAVI is currently considered the preferred treatment option for elderly patients or patients with multiple comorbidities who are not suitable for open heart surgery. Worldwide , many studies have demonstrated the effectiveness and safety of this method, while continuously recording improvements in valve design, implementation techniques and expanded indications.

In Vietnam, TAVI has been initially implemented in a number of major centers, but there are still no unified treatment guidelines and the number of cases performed is limited. In this context, the Vietnam Valves 2025 Conference is expected to contribute to forming a solid professional foundation, aiming to implement TAVI in a synchronous, safe and effective manner in clinical practice in Vietnam.
