Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam ( Vietcombank ) is honored to co-organize the Vietnam ESG Challenge 2024 - a pioneering event promoting the spirit of sustainable development in the business community and society.
The Sustainability Round - The final round of the "Corporate Governance towards Sustainable Development" - Vietnam ESG Challenge 2024 will take place on November 1, 2024 in Hanoi and November 3, 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City, marking the second year that the State Securities Commission (SSC) has coordinated with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) to launch the competition. The competition aims to inspire, spread useful knowledge and the importance of sustainable development to the community, businesses and especially the young generation - the future leaders of Vietnam.
This year’s competition attracted the participation of thousands of students from universities and academies across the country. This is a meaningful playground, creating conditions for young people to learn and express their interest in environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues - essential factors in sustainable development and modern corporate governance. The competition not only raises awareness of ESG but also spreads the spirit of social responsibility among the young generation of Vietnam.

The final round was held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, with the participation of 18 teams. Through two exciting rounds: "Situation handling and debate" and "Role playing in real-life situations," the contestants demonstrated excellent knowledge and skills in ESG and corporate governance. The creative debates and situation handling satisfied the judges, demonstrating the leadership talent, critical thinking and courage of the young people. In Hanoi, the first prize for Effective Board of Directors went to the team from VinUniversity (VinUni). In Ho Chi Minh City, the first prize for Effective Board of Directors was awarded to Team gReen, representing RMIT University.
The Vietnam ESG Challenge 2024 not only provides contestants with professional knowledge about ESG and corporate governance, but also spreads the spirit of sustainable development to the young community, contributing to building a green and sustainable future for Vietnam.
