The new 5G chip was introduced by Viettel at the Vietnam International Innovation Exhibition 2023 (VIIE 2023). This chip line plays the role of processing 5G DFE algorithms, controlling all operations of the 5G RRU (signal receiving/transmitting unit) as well as high-speed communication with other 5G processing units. The 5G DFE chip has a level of complexity equivalent to the Apple A7 chip, with a computing capacity of 1,000 billion calculations/second.

Mastering the chip design process is an important step for Vietnam to enter the global semiconductor industry. This is also a premise for Viettel to be able to produce chips serving many fields such as AI, 6G or IoT in the future. 5G devices manufactured by Viettel apply the latest technologies, meeting world standards. These devices are used in 11 markets that Viettel has invested in with nearly 200 million subscribers, ready to commercialize 5G in Vietnam. In addition, at the exhibition, Viettel also demonstrated two typical products in the AI ecosystem, including a legal virtual assistant that is being used effectively in the court industry as well as the Viettel AI Video KYC automatic customer care support solution. Viettel combines natural language processing, computer vision on the Big Data platform with Cloud, to flexibly solve problems of organizations, businesses and society.
