Comprehensive solution for used batteries

VinFast announced a strategic cooperation agreement with BatX Energies, an Indian clean technology company, on July 11, opening up a breakthrough solution to the problem of handling electric vehicle batteries at the end of their life cycle.

VinFast and BatX Energies form strategic partnership on recycling and reuse of high-voltage batteries

BatX Energies is a business engaged in recycling lithium-ion batteries from electric vehicles, consumer electronics and industry in India.

Under the agreement, BatX Energies will provide high-voltage battery recycling technology, recover precious metals such as lithium, cobalt and nickel, and reuse used batteries to support VinFast's manufacturing and after-sales services in the Indian market.

This process not only minimizes environmental impact but also promotes a circular economy model, ensuring sustainable management of battery life cycles in the electric vehicle industry.

Expanding sustainable ecosystem in India

Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, General Director of VinFast Asia, emphasized that this cooperation is an important step in building a battery ecosystem in India, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable development throughout from production to recycling.

Utkarsh Singh, CEO of BatX Energies, asserted that the company will ensure transparency and traceability in the material recovery process.

The agreement also opens up opportunities for cooperation in areas such as urban waste treatment and strategic mineral recovery, reinforcing VinFast's strategy in India, a potential market for electric vehicles.

Towards a sustainable future

Previously, VinFast has partnered with Global Assure, myTVS and RoadGrid to develop rescue, after-sales services and charging infrastructure, and is preparing to launch two models, VF 6 and VF 7, with the factory in Thoothukudi being completed.

BatX Energies, which recycles lithium-ion batteries from electric vehicles and electronics, uses hydrometallurgical extraction technology to regenerate materials, helping shape the region's green mobility future.

This is considered a strategic step to help VinFast consolidate its position in the global electric vehicle market, while demonstrating environmental responsibility throughout the product life cycle.
