Coach Vu Hong Viet and his team only need 1 point to win the championship one round early. However, against an opponent who is racing to avoid relegation, victory is predicted to be within the visitors' reach.

Before the match, Nam Dinh Club was also boosted by the organizers awarding 3 individual and collective awards for May. Accordingly, coach Vu Hong Viet was the best coach of the month, midfielder Brenner was the best player and Nam Dinh Club was the best collective of May.

A few minutes after the opening whistle, midfielder Ly Cong Hoang Anh opened the scoring in the 10th minute. He passed the ball to Brenner to break the offside trap and then ran down to defeat goalkeeper Nguyen Van Cong. The game was completely in the hands of the 2023-2024 season champion, but there was only one goal in the first half.

In the 81st minute, Quang Nam 's hope of equalizing brightened when the referee awarded them a penalty. However, after VAR intervened, the referee reviewed the situation and overturned the decision because he thought that goalkeeper Nguyen Manh had touched the ball before colliding with the home team's foreign player.

In the 90th minute, Lam Ti Phong scored 2-0 against Quang Nam after coming on as a substitute. Victory was certain, at the same time, Hanoi FC lost 1-2 to The Cong - Viettel . Nam Dinh FC deservedly won the title with an 8-point gap over the second-placed team, Hanoi.
