Accordingly, after the gas explosion occurred at Dung Quat Shipbuilding Industry Company Limited (headquartered in Dung Quat Economic Zone, Quang Ngai Province) on the afternoon of November 3, the victims were transferred to Da Nang Hospital and Quang Nam Central General Hospital for emergency treatment. However, due to serious health conditions, by the evening of November 3, all the victims were transferred to Da Nang Hospital for emergency treatment.

As soon as the cases were received, the hospital activated the hospital-wide red alert procedure to urgently treat the patients.

The hospital prepares internal medicine, resuscitation, burn, and surgical teams to handle burns and trauma-related issues for the victims.

Doctor Le Van Muoi, Head of the emergency team at Da Nang Hospital, said that there are currently 3 cases of severe burns of degree 3 and 4. There are 6 cases of burns of degree 1, 2, 3 with a burn area of about 50-60%.

“There were 3 severe cases of deep burns of level 3 and 4 and these cases were transferred to the intensive care unit, where both burn resuscitation and respiratory resuscitation were performed. These were severe cases and were treated immediately, including 1 case of both burns and pressure on the puncture site, and the surgical team had to be mobilized immediately to coordinate with the burn team, both resuscitation and timely resolution of pressure on the puncture site for the patient,” Dr. Le Van Muoi analyzed.

Initial information shows that these are cases of gas cylinder explosions in relatively closed environments. Therefore, in addition to burns on the skin surface area, the victims may also suffer deep burns in the respiratory tract. This explosion has 3 severe cases, according to initial assessment, the patients have not suffered deep burns in the respiratory tract. However, the patients are still being monitored for timely treatment.
