Surpassing Maldives, Hoi An is in the top honeymoon destinations in 2024

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province, Tripadvisor's rankings are based on reviews from tourists over the past 12 months.

In the list of 25 best destinations for honeymoon, Bali (Indonesia) tops the list thanks to its long beaches with fine white sand and beautiful scenery.

Ranked 2nd is Hoi An - proud to be the only representative of Vietnam; Maldives ranked 3rd, followed by Dominican Republic, Mauritius, Khao Lak (Thailand), Jamaica, Santorini (Greece), Zanzibar, Venice (Italy)...

These places are the place to enjoy honeymoon with beautiful scenery, romantic dinner for couples.

The list is part of Tripadvisor's 2024 Travelers' Choice Awards Best of the Best, which celebrates destinations whose restaurants, hotels, and entertainment exceed travelers' expectations. Less than 1% of the 8 million listings were awarded Best of the Best.

Hoi An - a city located on the central coast of Vietnam, was an important bustling trading port of Southeast Asia from the 15th to 19th centuries. At the same time, this is also a popular stopover for tourists , becoming more famous with foreign tourists and especially attractive to those from Japan, China, and Korea.

On the 14th day of the lunar month every month, Hoi An people organize the "Old Town Full Moon Night" festival with colorful lanterns shimmering romantically in the light of the river, bearing the traditional characteristics of the old town on the banks of the Hoai River.

In addition, Hoi An also has famous attractions such as the Japanese Covered Bridge, Quan Cong Temple and ancient houses along with mossy small pedestrian streets...

During the recent Giap Thin Tet holiday (from February 8 to 14, i.e. December 29 to January 5 of the lunar calendar), the total number of visitors and tourists staying in Quang Nam province reached 305,000, an increase of 35% over the same period in 2023. Of which, international visitors reached 97,000, an increase of 42% over the same period in 2023, domestic visitors reached 208,000, an increase of 31% over the same period in 2023.

In Hoi An city alone, during the 2024 Giap Thin Lunar New Year (from February 9 to February 13 - from the 30th to the 4th day of the Lunar New Year), the number of tourists staying in Hoi An reached 26,464, an increase of 7,105 visitors, reaching 137% compared to 2023; of which, international visitors reached 21,325, an increase of 36% over the same period last year.
