Specifically, at 8:45 p.m. on July 18, the Center's Emergency Department admitted 6 patients with symptoms of digestive disorders. Through information exploitation, 3 of these patients had eaten bread at Ms. T's shop (Residential Group 7, M'Drak Commune).

On July 19, the Center continued to receive 39 more patients with similar symptoms, of which 35 people also ate bread at Ms. T's shop.

According to Dr. Vo Trong Phuc, Deputy Director of M'Drak Medical Center, from the evening of July 18 to the morning of July 21, a total of 64 patients were hospitalized with symptoms of digestive disorders and diarrhea; of which, 38 people were related to eating bread at Ms. T's facility.

The patients came from many different areas in the commune, aged from 3 to 59 years old. Immediately after detecting the suspected poisoning cases, the Center directed specialized departments to promptly receive, examine and treat according to the procedures of the Ministry of Health ; at the same time, ensure adequate medicine, medical supplies and chemicals for treatment and health control of patients.

Along with the treatment, the Center also stepped up propaganda to reassure people, avoid causing public panic and encourage people to feel secure in their treatment. At the same time, M'Drak Medical Center advised the Commune People's Committee to establish a team to suddenly inspect Ms. T's bakery.

During the inspection, the delegation noted that the facility had glass cabinets that were properly covered, the preparation and processing areas were basically clean, and the facility owner had participated in food safety training. However, there were still some shortcomings such as: not providing documents or contracts proving the origin of food ingredients; not presenting health certificates of the direct processors, and the salesperson not wearing gloves at the time of inspection.

In response to the above violations, the inspection team drew up a record, took food samples for testing and requested the facility to temporarily suspend business operations until further notice from the People's Committee of M'Drak commune.

Doctor Phuc added that by the morning of July 21, the health condition of the patients had stabilized. It is expected that 5 patients will be discharged on the morning of July 21, the rest will continue to be monitored and treated, and will likely be discharged in the next 1-2 days.

With up to 64 cases showing symptoms of digestive disorders and diarrhea, it is likely that this is a seasonal diarrhea outbreak. The Center is continuing to closely monitor the health of the patients and is implementing measures to prevent, control and contain the epidemic to prevent the risk of spreading widely in the area.
