2025 will witness the rise of night tourism

Online travel platform Booking believes nocturism will be the top travel trend in 2025 after conducting a survey of more than 27,000 travelers worldwide.

70% of respondents said they have considered going to places with unpolluted skies to stargaze, witness once-in-a-lifetime events (blood moons, total solar and lunar eclipses), and study constellations.

In addition, visitors also want to participate in events such as city exploration , night experience tours or camping on a full moon night at sea.

Luxury travel company Wayfairer Travel says night travel experiences are set to increase by 25% by 2024. Most travelers are requesting to see the Northern Lights in Norway and Iceland; night diving in Australia's Great Barrier Reef and Egypt's Red Sea.

Nocturnal wildlife viewing trips in Zambia, Kenya and stargazing in Chile's Atacama Desert are also popular.

According to luxury travel company Scott Dunn, eclipse hunting could become a popular experience for many passionate guests in the near future.

Travelers are increasingly keen to venture to remote locations to witness unique space-related sights, with Greenland expected to be the next booming destination this year, the company said.

However, nocturnal travelers need not travel far. Hotels in Hawaii, the US and Austria now offer a variety of stargazing activities.

“Night travel is set to transform the travel industry by 2025 as guests increasingly seek unique experiences after dark,” commented Wayfairer Travel CEO Jay Stevens.
