More than 50 school buses were fined for violations

According to the Hanoi Department of Transport Inspectorate, the agency has inspected and reviewed 95 schools that have signed contracts with 300 transport units with more than 1,500 vehicles to transport and pick up students.

Through inspection, basically all drivers and vehicles meet the conditions for participating in passenger transport business by car; the transport unit has signed contracts with schools according to regulations.

Authorities discovered more than 50 cases of student transport vehicles violating the law, with a total fine of more than 165 million VND.

Among these violations are vehicles not fully listing the name and phone number of the transport business on the outside of both sides of the passenger vehicle; doing transport business by car without a license as prescribed...

In addition, violations of vehicle driver conditions (car drivers do not have a driver's license or do not carry vehicle registration papers).

Violations of compliance with legal regulations in automobile transportation business accounted for 35 cases.

Mr. Cao Van Hiep - Deputy Chief Inspector of Hanoi Department of Transport said that in the coming time, the Department Inspectorate will continue to direct the Transport Inspection Teams to maintain coordination with the Department of Education and Training, police of districts, towns and cities to strengthen inspection and control of student transportation activities, ensuring traffic safety conditions for contracted vehicles transporting students in the area.

"Schools are requested not to sign transportation contracts with unqualified transportation units; terminate transportation contracts with unqualified vehicles and drivers.

At the same time, we require that car owners and drivers absolutely do not carry more people than the prescribed number, do not use vehicles with expired registration, do not have a "contract vehicle" badge or an expired badge, and drivers do not have a driver's license appropriate to the type of vehicle they are driving," said Mr. Hiep.
