Previously, the Facebook account “NH” used by Ms. H. posted a video on the evening of June 24 with the title Highland teacher is scared when coming to Nha Trang , telling about her car being locked in the area of 2-4 Square (Tran Phu Street, Nha Trang). The video content shared that she has more than 20 years of driving experience, has never violated traffic rules, but when she came to Nha Trang, she felt “scared, hesitant” and was afraid to continue traveling here. At the same time, she expressed her criticism that no one had guided or reminded her, so she parked her car illegally.

The video quickly went viral with more than 1.4 million views, more than 10,500 likes, 4,600 comments and more than 760 shares, including many negative comments, distortions and attacks on the Traffic Police force, affecting the reputation of the police force and the image of local tourism.

Through verification, the authorities determined that Ms. H. had parked her car at a location with a “no stopping, no parking” sign on Tran Phu Street. When the violation was discovered, the traffic police only reminded her, explained her behavior, and did not issue a fine. However, Ms. H. continued to post videos with untrue content, causing misunderstanding among the public.

Working with the police, Ms. H. admitted her wrongdoings, removed the offending content herself, posted a video of correction, and pledged not to repeat the offense.

Khanh Hoa Provincial Police said that traffic signs in Nha Trang are in compliance with the 2024 Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety. In addition, the provincial traffic police do not impose fines, but only provide guidance, reminders, and propaganda when they know that the violators are first-time tourists to Nha Trang who are not observant.
