The above statement was made by Mr. Truong Huu Hiep at the 10th Xiangshan Forum in Beijing.

“We maintain an objective and fair position on the Ukrainian crisis and support a political solution to this conflict,” he said.

In addition to many scholars and diplomats, the Xiangshan Forum was attended by official delegations from more than 90 countries, including Britain, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia and the United States. Nearly one-third of the delegations were led by defense ministers or military chiefs of staff. “Common security, lasting peace ” was the main theme of the forum.

Attendees will have the opportunity to reflect and exchange views on the most pressing regional and global security issues, with a focus on Asia, the Middle East and Europe. They will also discuss issues related to artificial intelligence and nuclear risks.

Regarding the conflict situation, on the same day, October 30, the Ukrainian army announced that it had "successfully attacked" part of the Russian air defense system in the Crimean peninsula last night.

On social media, the strategic information unit of the Ukrainian army stated: “The armed forces (of Kiev) successfully attacked the strategic target of the air defense system on the western coast of the Crimean peninsula.”

Regarding the crisis in the Eastern European country, writing for The Kiev Independent , Ukrainian expert, retired Colonel Sergei Kivlyuk, said that Kiev has stopped its counterattack in three directions.

Accordingly, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (VSU) have stopped the counteroffensive towards the Sea of Azov, and will then stop in the Kupyansky and Avdeevsky directions.

The main reason was a “huge” shortage of manpower, armored vehicles and ammunition, as well as a lack of fighter aircraft needed to carry out offensive operations.

A day ago, there was information that the Commander-in-Chief of the VSU, General Valerii Zaluzhny, advocated a complete halt to the VSU's counterattacks and a shift to defense in preparation for a new offensive campaign in the spring of next year.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky opposed this view, demanding to continue the attack.
