In November 2023, Vietnam spent 7.8 billion USD importing gasoline and oil.

In the first 8 months of 2023, Vietnam imported 7.22 million tons of various types of gasoline and oil. Vietnam imported more than 8 million m3 of gasoline and oil in the first 9 months of 2023.

According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, gasoline imports to Vietnam in November 2023 decreased by 19.7% in volume and 25.3% in value compared to the previous month, reaching 607,318 tons, worth 510.06 million USD.

In the first 11 months of 2023, the total amount of imported petroleum reached 9,398,258 tons, worth 7.8 billion USD, up 18.3% in volume and down 3.6% in value compared to the same period in 2022.

In the first 11 months of 2023, Vietnam imported nearly 9.4 million tons of various types of gasoline and oil.

Of which, imported diesel reached 5.14 million tons, up 19.3%, accounting for 55% of the country's imported gasoline and oil.

Vietnam imported the most gasoline and oil from South Korea in the first 11 months of 2023, accounting for more than 38-39% of the total import volume and turnover, reaching 3,694,303 tons, worth 3.04 billion USD, up 26.7% in volume and down 2.09% in turnover compared to the same period in 2022; in which, in November 2023 alone, imports decreased by 28.4% in volume and 36.1% in turnover compared to October 2023, reaching 164,505 tons, worth 135.08 million USD.

Next is the Singapore market, accounting for more than 21% of the total import volume and turnover in the first 11 months of 2023, reaching 2,039,290 tons, worth 1.70 billion USD, up 54.3% in volume and 30.4% in turnover; in November 2023 alone, imports reached 110,983 tons, worth 93.9 million USD, up 26.05% in volume and down 29.9% in value.

The third place is the Malaysian market, in the first 11 months of 2023, accounting for more than 18-19% of the total import volume and turnover, up 38.7% in volume and 23.7% in turnover, reaching 1,823,667 tons, worth 1.49 billion USD; in November 2023 alone, imports from this market increased by 0.7% in volume and decreased by 8.0% in turnover.

Next is the Chinese market, in the first 11 months of 2023 accounting for more than 9-10% of total import volume and turnover, up 10.4% in volume and down 4.01% in turnover, reaching 918,155 tons, worth 816 million USD; in November 2023 alone, imports reached 87,941 tons, worth 81 million USD, up 14.8% in volume and up 8.2% in value.

Petroleum imports from Thailand accounted for more than 9% of the total volume and total turnover in the first 11 months of 2023, reaching 873,226 tons, worth 749.4 million USD, down 12.8% in volume and 31.01% in value; in November 2023 alone, imports from this market reached 37,320 tons, worth 33.7 million USD.
