This morning, June 6, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, Editor-in-Chief of Quang Tri Newspaper, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Press Awards Council Truong Duc Minh Tu chaired a meeting to score press works in the final round; deploy some work to prepare for the summary and awarding of the 7th Quang Tri Press Awards - 2023.

The 7th Quang Tri Provincial Press Award - 2023 has 104 works from members and collaborators participating.
After a period of launching, the organizing committee of the contest received 103 qualified entries. The Preliminary Council selected 40 entries for the final round for the Quang Tri Provincial Press Award Final Council to judge and evaluate.
Of which, 13 are printed newspapers; 12 are electronic newspapers; 12 are visual newspapers and 4 are spoken newspapers.
The works focus on the following areas: socio-economic development; Party building; major holidays and historical events of the homeland and country; prominent and pressing issues in social life.
In general, this year the number of participating works is greater and the quality, the topics are more diverse, the investment is more elaborate, and the use of multimedia journalism is more maximized than last year.
The author invests in building a serious work, many articles are long but still ensure seamless connection, attracting readers' attention.
Limit writings on common topics such as good people and good deeds, and increase reporting, investigative and feature works. Affiliated journalist associations participate in all types of journalism.
In particular, central reporters stationed in the area actively participated with many quality works.
The members of the final jury worked seriously and objectively, giving realistic assessments. The scores of the members did not differ much; focusing on works that were discovery-oriented, had public opinion-orienting, and had influence in social life to award prizes.
At the meeting, members of the Quang Tri Provincial Press Award Final Jury discussed, agreed to evaluate and classify 23 works winning the 7th Quang Tri Provincial Press Award - 2023, and submitted them to the Provincial People's Committee for decision on awarding prizes, including: 8 A prizes, 8 B prizes and 7 C prizes.
The meeting also discussed and agreed on a plan and prepared conditions for organizing a meeting with journalists in combination with the summary of the 7th Quang Tri Provincial Press Award - 2023 on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day June 21 (1925-2024).
