4 airports in the Central region stop receiving aircraft due to the impact of storm Trami

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just decided to temporarily stop receiving and operating aircraft at four airports in the Central region due to the impact of storm Trami.


Accordingly, based on the meteorological forecast at 10:00 a.m. on October 26 from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting and the Aviation Meteorological Center on the impact of storm No. 6 (storm Trami), storm Trami is likely to directly affect and threaten the safety of operations at a number of airports.

Airports such as Phu Bai, Da Nang , Dong Hoi, and Chu Lai will temporarily stop receiving aircraft according to the prescribed time frame to ensure safety against the impact of storm Tra Mi (Illustration photo).

To ensure safety at airports, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has decided to temporarily suspend receiving and operating aircraft at Phu Bai International Airport (from 06:00 to 22:00 on October 27); at Da Nang International Airport (from 06:00 on October 27 to 04:00 on October 28); at Dong Hoi Airport (from 06:00 to 19:00 on October 27) and at Chu Lai Airport (from 10:00 on October 27 to 10:00 on October 28).

Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation is responsible for providing appropriate aviation information in accordance with current regulations and ensuring absolute safety in flight operations.

The Northern and Central Airports Authorities are required to inspect and supervise the safety of operations at airports according to regulations.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting on the morning of October 26, storm Trami (storm number 6) is maintaining its intensity at level 11 (103-117km/h), gusting to level 14 and moving quite quickly in a westerly direction.

At 10am this morning, the center of storm Trami was in the northeastern area of the Hoang Sa archipelago, about 510km east-northeast of Da Nang.
