At the Google I/O event held in mid-May, the "search giant" mentioned the appearance of a new button when users decide to buy a software or feature/item in the application (in-app purchase) on the Android platform. The new option helps them suggest or ask others (family members, friends...) to pay for this amount.
Users have more options to "ask for money" when buying apps on Android
After clicking the “Choose payment method” button, the user will see a new option called “Ask someone else to pay”. From here, the system will generate a payment link that will be sent to the recipient via text message or email. Acceptance or rejection depends on the recipient and the proposed amount to be paid. This link will expire after 24 hours and requires the payer to know the exact email address of the sender asking for money.
The recipient is fully informed of the name and cost of the application (or item, feature) being paid for, and has the right to submit a refund request as a regular payment order, provided it is within 48 hours of the transaction.
Google is expected to start rolling out this feature to Android users in India and will expand to other markets if the response is positive. On the app developer side, they do not need to change or impact their software or payment options because Google will take care of this adjustment.
