The British Foreign Secretary affirmed that the above action was illegal, affecting freedom of navigation and the ship's ability to transport goods.
Not only that, the economy will be affected if this activity continues and therefore the attacks need to stop. Mr. David Cameron did not specify the measures that the UK will take to respond to the situation.
The Houthi attacks in Yemen have drawn international criticism, with the UK, US and others warning that the Houthis will face consequences if they carry out any further attacks.
The Houthis, who control much of Yemen including the capital, have been attacking commercial vessels in the Red Sea since October. The group says it is showing solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza through the attacks.
