When Apple introduced the MacBook Pro M4 laptop, it said that the mini-LED technology used on the product's screen is one of the industry's leading technologies and is labeled Pro Display XDR. However, Apple did not mention the Quantum Dot technology used for this product.

Mini LED is an improved technology from LED backlight technology integrated on liquid crystal displays (LCDs). It uses super-small Mini LEDs (much smaller in size than standard LEDs) to shine light through non-self-illuminating pixels on the screen to display content for you to enjoy.

Liquid crystal display technology or LCD is a type of display technology made up of cells containing liquid crystals that can change the polarization of light and thus change the intensity of transmitted light when combined with polarizing filters.

Meanwhile, Quantum Dot is also known as quantum dot technology. This technology uses microscopic particles with a size of about 2 - 10 nanometers to provide superior brightness and color to the screen. Compared to conventional LCD panels, Quantum Dot technology provides a 50% wider color gamut.

According to Ross Young, founder and CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), Apple has applied Quantum Dot technology for the first time in the display of a Mac. Previous versions used KSF phosphor film - which is cheaper and does not contain cadmium, which is harmful to human health. This change brings the same color gamut and performance as previous models or even better. According to Young, Apple uses Quantum Dot technology for all versions of the MacBook Pro M4.

Previously, according to technology site MacRumors, Quantum Dot display technology has been able to eliminate cadmium, thereby paving the way for Apple to use it for MacBook Pro M4 laptop models. Scientists consider cadmium (Cd) to be one of the three metals considered most dangerous to the human body (the other two are lead and mercury).

According to industry experts, displays using this technology have better image quality, improved color accuracy, and a wider color gamut. However, it is still unclear whether Apple will use this technology for the cheaper MacBook Air M4 line.

In addition, Apple also added a nano-texture option to enhance the experience of MacBook users outdoors. According to Apple, the MacBook Pro M4 has the best battery life (up to 24 hours) of all MacBook laptops ever. According to Apple, changes in screen technology as well as the addition of a more energy-efficient processor have helped bring efficiency to the flagship laptop model of the "Apple".
