The Argentine Embassy in Caracas will be handed over to Brazil for management support, according to a statement from the Argentine Foreign Ministry , which was quoted by Anadolu news agency. Brazil, Mexico and Italy have assisted the Argentine government in withdrawing its diplomatic staff from Venezuela.

The move came after Caracas ordered the closure of the Argentine Embassy within 72 hours, in response to Argentine President Javier Milei's refusal to recognize the results of Venezuela's presidential election on July 28.

Earlier, on July 29, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry asked Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Peru, Panama, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay to "immediately withdraw their representatives from the territory" of this South American country in order to protest "interventionist actions and statements" related to the election.

Caracas has also requested the withdrawal of all diplomatic officials at embassies in the seven Latin American countries mentioned above.

In an official statement, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil affirmed that the Venezuelan government will "guarantee all legal and political actions to force respect, preserve and protect the inalienable right to self-determination" of the South American country.
